Wagga Wagga Housing and Homelessness Updates
Thanks to everyone who’s attended our first three housing forums in Wagga, the turn-out and enthusiasm have been wonderful.
Move-on orders issued at Wilks Park
Residents of Wilks Park have been issued with notices requiring them to remove all of their possessions and vacate the site by Tuesday 7 July. The notice advises that failure to do so may result in further action being taken by Council. In other cases this has involved the police. A copy of the letter issued by Council can be found here.
In response, a member of our action group has prepared a Notice of Objection for Wilks Park residents to submit back to Council outlining their concerns. A copy of this response can be found here.
Housing & Homelessness Forum 4
Our first three community forums brought together people deeply concerned about the growing housing and homelessness crisis in our region. Together we are working on practical short-term responses, including to the move-on orders above and longer-term solutions.
Everyone is welcome, including community members, service providers, faith groups, local organisations - everyone who wants to be part of practical solutions. This is not about politics, it’s about people.

Putting people before politics
Together for Riverina exists to make democracy something everyone can reach, shape, and feel part of.
We are an entirely volunteer-run community organisation of committed everyday people who care deeply about how our region is represented. And for the record: we’re not aligned with any political party.
With the Riverina electorate stretching from Lockhart to Crookwell, Cowra to Tumbarumba and Yass to Temora, our communities find themselves needing to be linked in new ways. So we’ve come together across postcodes, paddocks and priorities to look for fresh ideas for the future.
Our work builds on the wisdom shared in Kitchen Table Conversations held in the Riverina and the Yass Valley during 2020–2021. Sure, the world has shifted since then, but the need for us to come together to speak for our local communities has only become clearer.
Join us, and together we can shape what comes next.
Our Vision
A Riverina community engaged in vibrant democratic conversations that allow everyone to be heard.
Our Purpose
